Baker Mayfield may have gone to Carolina, but Cleveland is still on his mind.
The former Browns quarterback took to Twitter on Friday, Sept. 2, to unveil two officially licensed T-shirts from Glory Days Apparel, including one that might not sit well with Clevelanders.
The spicier one includes a picture of a studded dog collar with a broken chain-link leash, along with the phrase "Off The Leash."
"Seems laser-focused," quipped former Browns lineman Joe Thomas on Twitter.
The $38 T-shirt — that's not a typo; it really is $38 — also has a picture of Mayfield wearing a cowboy hat with his jersey number (6) and references the Browns-Panthers Sept. 11 opener with the phrase "Live & In-Person: Carolina versus Cleveland."
(Side note: "in person" doesn't need to be hyphenated here, although that's probably not what Browns fans are going to quibble about.)
Mayfield's other T-shirt is just a cartoon of him in a Panthers-esque uniform over the word "Baker."
The Browns traded Mayfield to the Panthers on July 6 for a conditional 2024 draft pick, which will either be a fourth- or fifth-rounder depending on Mayfield's playing time in Carolina. He quickly beat out Sam Darnold for the starting position and will be under center for the opener against his former team.
The Browns will start journeyman Jacoby Brissett, who is serving as a placeholder while Deshaun Watson serves his 11-game suspension.
Tickets on the secondary market were going for a minimum of $127 on StubHub as of Friday morning.
The Cleveland Guardians will open their Cactus League schedule on Feb. 25 against the Cincinnati Reds at Goodyear Ballpark.
The Guardians will be the visiting team at the shared facility on that date, so they'll play their first official home game at the ballpark on Feb. 26 against the Texas Rangers.
The Guardians will play 15 home games at Goodyear Ballpark and 17 games overall at the site, since they'll twice play the Reds as the visiting team.
Cleveland also will play host to a World Baseball Classic team to be named on March 8 as a warm-up for the 2023 tournament.
The Guardians wrap up their spring schedule with two exhibition games at Chase Field against Arizona March 27-28.
More than 30 sponsors are donating cash, services and in-kind supplies for this weekend's Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic in Canton, the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced.
The annual event culminates with a game between Central State University and Winston-Salem University on Sunday, Sept. 4, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

A special grant from Visit Canton and ArtsinStark helped underwrite some of the costs for the weekend's programming.
Speaking of the Village, the company's media division recently sold its documentary, "The Perfect 10," to Fox Sports Films, which will serve as co-producer.
The documentary focuses on the 10 Heisman Trophy winners who went on to earn induction in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It was produced in partnership with one of those 10, Tim Brown, and was directed by four-time Emmy winner Steve Trout.
The documentary, which will air during Fox's Super Bowl LVII programming, brought together seven of the eight living Heisman winners who later earned enshrinement: Marcus Allen, Brown, Earl Campbell, Tony Dorsett, Barry Sanders, Roger Staubach and Fox Sports' very own Charles Woodson.
Two of the 10 are deceased — Paul Hornung and Doak Walker. As for the player still unaccounted for? Well, since retiring, he's best known for playing Detective Fred Nordberg in the "Naked Gun" movies ... or maybe something else.
