Hulu’s Upper West Side mystery, Only Murders in the Building, is quite the puzzle.

The show’s second season finds true crime podcasters Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin), and Oliver (Martin Short) investigating the murder of retiring Arconia Board President, Bunny Folger (Jayne Houdyshell). But as the characters slowly piece together this curious crime, the show gives fans their own puzzles to assemble by hiding clues in Twitter hashtags and end credits.

The biggest Only Murders sleuths may have noticed the show’s official Twitter account @OnlyMurdersHulu released a series of six show-related hashtags that feature corresponding puzzle piece emoji. The hashtag #OliMabel reveals the top left puzzle piece, #BloodyMabel unveils the top center piece, #Arconiacs shows the top right, #WhoKilledBunny gives fans the bottom left piece, #OnlyMurdersInTheBuilding or #OMITB flashes the bottom center piece, and #Brazzos reveals the bottom right piece. When combined, the six puzzle piece emoji form a promo shot for “Angels in Flip Flops” — a Charles Hayden Savage single from his Brazzos days that was discussed in Season 2, Episode 4.

Is there more to that song than meets the ears? Is Only Murders Twitter trying to tell us something? Only time will tell.

If you’re not poking around on OMITB Twitter, have no fear. There are other puzzle references throughout Season 2. For starters, the trailer shows Mabel sitting on the floor in front of a bunch of flipped over puzzle pieces that fly up into the air in front of her. What’s that all about?

Though we have yet to reach the Mabel-specific puzzle scenes, a puzzle piece can be found in the end credits of every Season 2 episode. Only Murders fans may recall that every Season 1 episode ended with Mabel mural/show intro-style looks into Arconia residents’ windows. After Mabel walked in and found Bunny dead in the Season 1 finale, the end credits showed relevant images of Bunny and Mabel. So it’s nice to see Only Murders carry on their statement-making end credits in Season 2.

Each Season 2 episode leaves viewers with a relevant photo and a puzzle piece that predictably points to an important clue needed to solve Bunny’s murder. What exactly do the images in the end credits mean? We’re not sure yet. But knowing Only Murders, they’re there for a reason.

In the spirit of cracking this case before the finale airs on August 23, here are all of Season 2’s end credits clues.

1 Episode 1: "Persons of Interest" Photo: Hulu Image: A bunny beside a bottle of booze; a reminder of the night Mabel went into her apartment to get champagne and discovered Bunny had been murdered. Puzzle Piece: The pricey erotica painting that was stolen from Bunny’s apartment after she was killed. A replica later appears in Charles’ apartment and he realizes the painting is of his father and a woman named Rose Cooper, who created the work of art. We learn Cooper and Charles’ dad were having an affair before she mysteriously died, and that Charles’ dad was arrested and questioned about her murder. It’s also revealed that Charles’ dad had an affair with Leonora Folger, whose father designed and built the Arconia. Oh, and did we mention Leonora was Bunny’s mother, so Bunny and Charles may have been half siblings? Yeah. Anyway, Leonora claims the painting is hers, not Bunny’s. Someone also called Bunny the day she died to inquire about the painting, and she told them to stop reaching out. Hmm… 2 Episode 2: "Framed" Photo: Hulu Image: The Arconia blueprints. Bunny’s dad, “architect and infamous playboy” Archibald Carter, designed and built the Arconia in 1908 and created secret peepholes, an elevator in Bunny’s closet, and the hidden tunnels that we assume Bunny’s killer used to get around the building. Puzzle Piece: Bunny’s bird, Mrs. Gambolini. Bunny unexpectedly leaves the yellow-headed Amazon parrot to Oliver in her will, and a flashback shows the bird was watching TV with Bunny when she was attacked. Eagle-eyed fans have also noticed the Only Murders intro changes at the start of Episode 2 and Bunny is walking her bird on a leash instead of the dog from previous credits. Interesting. Photo: Hulu 3 Episode 3: "The Last Day of Bunny Folger" Photo: Hulu Image: A tie-dye Only Murders merch sweatshirt. It’s what Bunny was wearing when she died, but does it point to the podcast’s fans somehow? Puzzle Piece: Bunny’s face! Episode 3 shows Bunny’s last day alive and as board president. She goes to the Pickle Diner, has a farewell meeting, gets in a fight with her successor, and gives the Only Murders trio a bottle of champagne to thank them for saving the Arconia. The episode ends with a knock on Bunny’s door. She answers and says, “What the fuck do you want?” before being attacked. 4 Episode 4: "Here’s Looking at You" Photo: Hulu Image: Charles Hayden Savage’s “Angel in Flip Flops” record. We learn it’s an old favorite of Lucy’s (Zoe Colletti) that went to #83 on the charts in Germany and was sampled by stars like Post Malone and Missy Elliot. OK, Charles. Why is this record so important though? Puzzle Piece: Oliver’s bloody knife, aka the assumed murder weapon that Lucy found in Charles’ kitchen. Obviously a clue! Decider will update this article as additional puzzle pieces are revealed. Tags Hulu Only Murders In The Building Selena Gomez
