TikToker Sam Doll (@sam_d0ll) is a writer and musician with highly evolved deductive reasoning skills, as evidenced by a recent video where she explains that there’s a 95% chance that she will be engaged by the end of that day.
“It is August 6. It’s 8 a.m. I am 95% sure that I am getting engaged today,” Doll states to the camera at the beginning of the clip. She then explains the “very simple reason” she’s come to that numerical conclusion.
It all started with an invitation from her friend Annie to a barbecue that was planned for August 6. After agreeing to the invitation, Doll asked her partner, Joe, in passing, if he wanted to go to the barbecue. He said yes.
The first clue came a week later when Joe had to remind Doll of their August 6 barbecue plans.
“What man remembers a plan you mentioned in passing with your friends?” Doll asks rhetorically.
Doll grew more suspicious when no one set an official time for the party, yet guests needed to adhere to a dress code.
“Needless to say, I’ve been shopping all week,” Doll says. “I don’t know how this is going down, but I know I’m going to look good just in case.”
Doll’s sixth sense went into overdrive when Joe suggested they walk their dog at 10 a.m. After expressing bafflement over the unusually specific dog-walking time, Doll admits that there was a chance the engagement “could not be happening today at all.” Still, statistically, she’d be 95% shocked if it didn’t, as “a woman’s intuition is often correct.”
In this case, Doll’s intuition was correct. The next shot included her showing her engagement ring to the camera with her now fiancé standing behind her.
Viewers congratulated Doll on her engagement, and some even shared similar stories.
“I thought I was getting engaged one day. I wound up being the proud owner of an ice fishing rod,” one user mentioned.
“Me jumping to conclusions and being totally right,” joked one TikToker.
“I got suspicious while I was getting dressed for dinner. It’s always spot on,” another viewer noted.
Clearly, the odds were in Doll’s favor that day.
